mSemicon‘s first products were inverter drives. These are devices that operate on the public electricity network and are used to drive, for example, motors, or to create non-standard voltages and frequencies for special applications.
So from the beginning, the company has been dealing with the particular issues that pertain to power electronics, especially safety and EMC (electromagnetic compatibility). These applications, given that they involve dealing with power, relatively high voltage, and high frequency hard switching, have their own challenges and requirements, more stringent than those of low voltage applications. The rules are quite different.
From those early days, mSemicon has gone on to develop plenty of power supplies, more inverters, as well as light bulbs that operate on the public electricity network (230V, 115V). If you have a similar application, talk to us about it.
