Certification and Approval
In general, one is not allowed to market products that do not conform to a predetermined set of requirements.
“Requirements” in this context can be used as a collective term to cover a variety of regulations, standards, and so on, often emanating from EU directives, and broadly intended to cover areas such as product safety, the environment, industry norms, etc. They are often prefixed with the letters “EN” or “ISO”. Generally, the more critical the product, the greater the regulatory attention it receives, and the more constraints there are on design, development and production.
mSemicon’s products are generally designed to meet standards such as EN60335 and EN60601, as well as industry-specific ISO standards, whatever is appropriate for the application.
